About the Instructor:

Carmen Alonso Ph.D. works as a Clinical Psychologist at Madison Psychiatric Associates. Her practice focuses on individual and group mindfulness-based psychotherapy with adults. The foundation of her practice is on developing self-awareness and self-understanding of patterns of mind, emotion, and behavior.

The intention of her work is to decrease suffering and nurture well-being. In her practice, Carmen incorporates techniques from Cognitive-behavioral, Psychodynamic, Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy, Art Therapy, and most importantly, from Buddhist Psychology and Mindfulness Meditation perspectives. She has been teaching various mindfulness classes based on acceptance and compassion since 2000 and received the MBCT training from Zindel Segal in the summer of 2006.
